Deborah Gyang hails from northern Nigeria and holds a diploma in Administration and Finance from Plateau State Polytechnic. She initially worked in an administrative capacity at the Great Commission Movement of Nigeria before joining Mercy Ships in 2000, where they provided surgery and medical care to underserved African regions. Deborah obtained her RN and BSN degrees and currently serves as a Pediatric Nurse at the Center for Immigrants. As a former refugee, she is committed to assisting refugees and immigrants with their resettlement and integration journey in Colorado, United States of America. Additionally, she advocates for equal healthcare access for refugee and immigrant women and the health of refugee and immigrant children in her community.
